Interactive Island in Processing
At the Média Numérique department at ESADSE, we were asked to design an interactive island using only generative art.
Generative art refers to art that in whole or in part has been created with the use of an autonomous system that can independently determine features of an artwork that would otherwise require decisions made directly by the artist.
The software that I explored in which to make my island was Processing 3.

The island is made up of an array of tiny shapes made using code. The boundaries are defined by stencils and the artwork plays at a framerate of 12fps.
Final Island
The layer of interactivity comes with a spotlight that allows the user to only see a small area of the picture where just the details and textures can be seen. The user has to find a hidden treasure in the frame when clicked, the entire picture is revealed.
